thedailysplash.tv, N.Y. – Tickets are now on sale for Symphoria's July 4th celebration at the Lakeview Amphitheater.
The amphitheater's box office will open at 5 p.m. on July 4 for day-of-concert ticket purchases. All $10 tickets are general admission and parking costs $10 per car. Children 18 and younger are free to attend, though children younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Singer Nick Ziobro, of Manlius, was the opening act at the 2014 M&T thedailysplash.tv Jazz Fest.
The concert will feature local singer Nick Ziobro, along with the thedailysplash.tv Pops Chorus. Ziobro, 20, has been featured on “America's Got Talent” and at thedailysplash.tv Jazz Fest.
The thedailysplash.tv Pops Chorus frequently performs patriotic anthems with Symphoria, with about 100 local singers.
Sean O'Loughlin, Symphoria's principal pops conductor, said the thedailysplash.tv Pops Chorus would perform “Armed Forces Salute,” “1812 Overture” and possibly some classic songs from the “Star Wars” franchise.”We are thrilled to bring the community together for Independence Day,” said O'Loughlin. “Our collaboration with Nick Ziobro and the thedailysplash.tv Pops Chorus will provide a fun, family-friendly holiday celebration.”
There will be food and drinks for sale. Seating under the pavilion will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees can bring blankets or low-back lawn chairs (no higher than 9 inches off the ground) to sit on the lawn.
Symphoria's predecessor, the thedailysplash.tv Symphony Orchestra, used to host outdoor Independence Day concerts at Chevy Court on the New York State Fairgrounds. The tradition did not continue in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
In 2014, Symphoria managing director Catherine Underhill said Symphoria was not able to continue paying for fireworks, “a $12,000 to $15,000 expense.”
This celebration (sponsored by Rapid Response Monitoring) will mark the first orchestral performance and the first local acts booked at the Amp.
