You can first access the DLC upon reaching Skyhold. You will need 16 Power and have to complete the mission “Disaster in the Deep Roads”. In order to complete the DLC, it”s recommended that you be Level 16.

This DLC is definitely the easiest and the shortest of the three DLCs for Dragon Age: Inquisition. Especially if you have an end game character.Three of the trophies are story-related and unmissable:
There are six levels. All of the levels are straight-forward and easy to navigate but there are branches that lead to treasure. There is also a side-mission that helps with gear but is not needed for any of the trophies.
|Deep Roads CommanderComplete a mission at the expedition table in the Legion of the Dead camp.||30.33%Uncommon|
This trophy is the only one that is non-story mandated but it is simple and quick. It is only “Missable” if you do not interact with the mission table and perform a mission.All you have to do to earn the trophy is complete a Mission on the Expedition Table after you clear out the giant room and make your first camp. The missions on this table are specific to the DLC and can only be performed on this table. So while at Skyhold, you cannot do a single mission for the this trophy.
|Giant SlayerDefeat an ogre alpha.||32.25%Uncommon|
You fight your first Ogre Alpha in the DLC right before you make your first camp and it is unavoidable. The fight with Ogre Alpha is a pretty standard one – lots of HP, high Defense and Offense, easy to taunt – with the exception of it will pick up a character and punch them, doing a moderate amount of damage. Stunning or putting the ogre to sleep will drop your character – taking no fall damage – and allow them back into the fight. The Rogue Archer”s Exploding Arrow ability is a good choice to stop the ogre from beating on your character.
This trophy is awarded for following the one and only long story-related mission for this DLC. Upon getting to final level (the 6th level) and just moments before you fight the boss, some dialogue will happen and the trophy will unlock right after.
The first two levels are easy. The start of the third level introduces the main bad guys for the DLC. They are Level 16 and are deadly. They will appear at nearly every battle between their introduction on level three all the way to last battle before the boss on level six.
The map for this fight is a circle and has no walls so you can be knocked off or even walk off as you try to avoid the boss” attacks, except for a small portion which blocks your escape back down the path you entered on.First, focus on attacking The Guardian”s appendages that look like tentacles that are attached to the floor to eliminate their damage. Afterwards, attack the Lyrium spot(s) on its side. White circles that glow. They are the Boss” health that you can track in the Upper right hand corner of your screen.The number one attack to look out for is a flash attack that The Guardian performs. Every so often the boss will cause flashes of light to appear on the ground and large stalagmites will pierce upwards out of the ground. There will be many of them. Each one is proceeded by a blue glyph mage looking circle of light on the ground. Run away from each spot as fast as you can. Even well geared characters can get hit for 650 damage. When this phase starts, used the command to Disengage, so the party will be more likely to move and avoid the piercing earth spires that erupt from the ground.Its other attack is a slash attack from the tentacles. Not high damage but the attacks are frequent so the damage can add up. Mitigate this by using tanks, mobile characters, and Vivienne as a Knight Enchanter.The trophy does not unlock immediately after the boss is defeated. It will unlock later during one of the cutscenes when you will be returning to base camp where Scout Harding is waiting.
