Unlocking the Barn, Level 3

Once you complete the achievement, the blueprint is notdirectly handed over to you. You still need to buy it fromSparz Boltwist (Alliance) or Rezlak (Horde)for 1,000 .
Work Orders are unlocked with your Barn Level 1 and allow you to produce Sumptuous Fur and Raw Beast Hide. At Level 2, you canstart producing Savage Feast. At Level 3, you can produce all of theabove in higher quantities and each Elite Work Order has a chance to give youa Savage Blood, which is used to craft item upgrades, such as
Greater Steelforged Essence.
Level 1: Fur and Leather Work Orders
At Level 1, the Barn Supervisor gives youBreaking into the Trap Game (Alliance) andBreaking into the Trap Game (Horde). This quest provides you witha Iron Trap and teaches you how to capture a beast: Talbuk or Wolffor Fur, Clefthoof or Elekk for Leather. After completing the quest, you getto keep the Iron Trap and you can freely use it to capture beasts.
Capturing a beast sounds very straightforward, but it is not as simpleas it may first seem. First, you need to lay down the trap. You canalso lay it down while fighting the beast, but we do not recommend that. Then, you need to engage the beast and bring it below 50% health. When this is done, you need to kite the beast over the trap and it willget captured.
The main problem is that if you walk over the trap, it will deactivate.Another bigger problem is that there is no notification when this happens. The trap remains there, as if it were still active, just that it doesnot capture the beast, no matter how hard you try to make it walkexactly on the trap. To make things worse, traps seem to deactivate evenif you barely touch them.
Slowing down the beast or increasing your speed are great ways of makingthings much simpler. The idea is that you need to get the trap between you andthe beast, without touching the trap. So, slowing down the beast or sprintingfor a bit can greatly help with that. Some beasts sometimes cast spells, sothis is a good opportunity to position yourself correctly. As with all things, practice helps and you will eventually get used to the process and find whatworks best for your class.
After capturing a beast, you receive a
Furry Caged Beast, if youtrapped a Talbuk or a Wolf, or a
Leathery Caged Beast, if you trappeda Clefthoof or an Elekk. You can turn this in to the Barn Supervisor at theBarn to start a Work Order, which takes 4 hours to complete. A Furry Caged Beastgives you 8x Sumptuous Fur (12x, with a Level 100 follower). A Leathery Caged Beastgives you 8x Raw Beast Hide (12x, with a Level 100 follower).
Note that if you lose your Iron Trap, you can always loot one inthe Barn.
If you kill the beast after capturing it (i.e., after receiving your caged beast),it gets you out of combat instantly (so you can mount up) and you even get experience from thekill.
After upgrading your Barn to Level 2, you receiveFeeding An Army (Alliance) or Feeding An Army(Horde) from the Barn Supervisor. The quest provides you with an Improved Iron Trap, which you get to keep once the quest iscompleted. This improved trap allows you to capture Boars andRiverbeasts and obtain a
Meaty Caged Beast every time you do so.Turning the caged beast to the Barn Supervisor starts a Meat Work Order, which takes 4 hours to complete and gives you 1 Savage Feast(sometimes 2, with a level 100 follower).
Note that your Improved Iron Trap and your Iron Trap do not share a cooldown,so you can alternate using one and the other when capturing beasts for Furor Leather Work Orders. Also, you can get a new Improved Iron Trap fromyour Barn, if you lose it.
After upgrading your Barn to Level 3, you receiveBigger Trap, Better Rewards (Alliance) orBigger Trap, Better Rewards (Horde) from the Barn Supervisor. The quest provides you with a Deadly Iron Trap, which you can use tocapture Elite beasts in Nagrand.
Each Large Work Order also has a small chance (about 33%, from our limitedtesting) to give you a Savage Blood. This chance is increased if you havea follower working in the building.
You can queue up to a certain number of Work Orders, depending on your Barn”s level (7 at Level 1, 14 at Level 2, 21 atLevel 3).
Having a Storehouse Level 3increases the maximum number of Work Orders by 15, which means a maximum of22 Work Orders at Level 1, 29 at Level 2, and 36 at Level 3.
Being able to queue more Work Orders does not increase your yield, but it doesallow you to let more time pass before you have to go back to the Barnto refill your queue of Work Orders.
